CSP Authenticator
Classic passwords ("single factor authentication") have proven to be easily hacked and a significant security weakness.
Two-factor authentication addresses this weakness and has been recommended by the FDIC to increase security and prevent account hijacking. CSP Authenticator brings RSA's (www.rsasecurity.com) proven two-factor technology to the NonStop® Server. This ensures that you have the same degree of authentication security on your NonStop® Server as your other platforms.
CSP Authenticator communicates via TCP/IP with your RSA Authentication Manager Server. Using dual Ethernet ports and installing replica RSA Authentication Manager Servers, your investment in the NonStop® Server is not compromised by a single-point authentication engine. Similarly your investment is not wasted in merely providing an authentication service via the NonStop® Server for other platforms.
CSP Authenticator may be installed in two modes:
1. In conjunction with Safeguard: All system logon requests whether via Guardian or OSS can be processed by CSP Authenticator. This includes requests for access via TACL logon, FTP, etc.
2. Standalone: Applications can be enhanced to use CSP Authenticator to authenticate your “application-specific” users. To simplify the software integration, CSP Authenticator is shipped with a sample Pathway requestor SCOBOL source file and a sample Pathway server configuration.
CSP will provide the support to advise you on how to extend non-Pathway applications to use two-factor authentication using CSP Authenticator.
